TESTIMONIALS

"Our mother Inez Vollmer, was a resident at Elizabeth Scott Community for two years, 2017-2019. They were some of the finest, most compassionate years of her life. Mom began living in Assisted Living Level I. She had a beautiful, well maintained, safe apartment. She dined with three ladies who quickly became dear friends. She participated in all activities offered: church services, exercise, bingo, entertainment (that kept her talking for days) and most everything offered. If she did not attend, care givers would check on her to make sure she was ok.

ESC is a family of employees who all have our family in their best interest. It starts at the top and is witnessed by all employees and families each day. Mom became sick for a short period so additional care was necessary, they provided that care in Assisted Living Level II. Her stay there was short, but the employees knew who she was and provided the care necessary to help her get back on her feet quick. Part of that care came from the Rehabilitation Center. You will never meet a more competent group of professionals. Every minute with mom was devoted to helping her regain strength and confidence. Mom lived later in the Skilled Nursing wing. It was there where those around her truly captured her soul. The RNs, their aides, the dining and dietary staff, were all there to make sure mom was safe, comfortable, and happy. As family members we felt as important as mom. It was at this time when, unbeknownst to us, that mom created an unbelievable piece of art during her activity time. We did not know of her hidden talent, but the staff at ESC provided the atmosphere where it shined. We will forever be grateful to everybody here. We highly recommend checking out ESC on your own if you too have a family member who may need some extra care."

"Matt Bucher & Nursing Staff,

I would like to thank you for the wonderful care that you gave my father, while he was in rehab. It was amazing to see the difference with how he was doing, from the time he came and when he was discharged. The staff there is wonderful! He was so happy with the friendly and caring people who work there. I also believe that the good food was also a big plus for him to regain his appetite and health back. We are very impressed with the care and appreciate all you did to help him get back on his feet. It was a good stay for him. Thanks again!"

"Dear Paul,

I am writing to thank you for your exceptional kindness and attention given to my neighbor. As we all know she was a daily challenge. You never let us down when we needed anything - moving furniture and "stuff" to various places with your “valet racks," small refrigerator for room we ended up not needing, and often just a good laugh!

You are in charge of a very loving atmosphere at Elizabeth Scott’s Community. Level I Assisted Living and the Rehab Center gave outstanding care to my neighbor. In today's very challenging Health Care System, it is unusual to receive this type of care. A huge thank you, Paul, to your caring and constant humor. At times, humor is one's best medicine for curing. God bless."
Betty Lemon, MSN, RNC
"I wish to thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart for a most pleasant stay at the Center while rehabbing from my surgery. Each and every one of you has truly contributed to my rehabilitation whether it was physical, medically, or spiritually. You truly are a community of caregivers that are family-oriented. Each
has gone beyond your job description and requirements. All are deserving of what I call “Accommodation” letters to be put in your files.

The uniqueness of the community was that they all really took time to listen and talk to me and met my needs. And believe me there were times when I was anxious about recovery. Being your first rehab resident probably allowed me more time than usual; however respect for privacy and comfortableness continued my entire stay.

I want to hire Pam and Carol to clean my house! My room and bathroom were always clean and neat. Thanks to Andy and Pat for the promptness of adjusting the delay with my bathroom door closure, mounting a wall clock and memo board strip so I knew what time of day it was when I would catnap.

Brianna, Emily and the cooks helped me maintain weight with a delicious variety of food to select from the menus. I’m going to attempt to make the Italian wedding soup and mushroom Marsala chicken.

The Aides kept me on schedule with showers, getting dressed, and down to the dining room; not to mention the afternoon snacks and my late night sandwich requests. Angela, April, Megan, Sam, Janice, and Roxie were surely on the spot answering my call light any time of day or night.

Linda and Collen were sure that I was aware of daily activities at Elizabeth Scott to keep my day busy. My faith is important to me. Thanks for advising St. Joan of Arc and Father Zak that I was a resident so they could visit me and distribute Communion; as well as going to rosary hour.

Elizabeth Scott nurses are the cream of the crop! Not only had Lynne, Nancy, Kenya, Chelsea, Maggie, and Deb met my medical needs; they listened patiently to my concerns with empathy and sincerity. With their busy schedules, they made me feel I was the only one important at that moment. Your concerns and compassion are so endearing to know there are nurses of your caliber serving patients. And, not knowing my medical history, the doctors and Lana stayed on top of my meds.

Of course my rehabilitation was supreme with the constant encouragement and skilled therapists. Erin, Tiffany, Caitlin, Kelly, and Sue -- you always said what I wanted to hear. Sharing stories about your families and lives made me feel part of a great family. You all really work great together.

And of course, Elizabeth Scott Community wouldn’t be where it is without the guidance of the Bucher family. Paul and Deb, you should be proud of Matt and Jeanie who had bent over backwards to allow my stay to be as comfortable as possible. They truly have the skills to motivate and care for the Elizabeth Scott Community as a whole. They are good listeners whether with staff or the residents. There were many countless occasions where they had just stopped by my room or seen my husband, Rodger, and I on walks to check if we were satisfied with my care. Thanks, Matt, for the t-shirt and Jeanie, for your constant vigilance.

Again, even though I may not have mentioned everyone on staff I encountered, or those whom have had some direction in my rehabilitation (because the names are endless), I truly appreciate each and every one of you.

May all of you continue on your life’s journey to service the needs of the Elizabeth Scott Community or others you encounter in life, as our dear Lord has and will continue to guide you.

Many Blessings on all of you."

"The staff and therapists at Elizabeth Scott have made me a lot better than I was when I first arrived there from the hospital. All of the staff members are courteous, kind hearted and caring. Elizabeth Scott has an outstanding team. In all my years of medical practice, I've never seen a health care facility so well run."
Lloyd Kavanagh, M.D., OB/GYN (Retired), Two-month resident of Elizabeth Scott's Original Skilled Rehab Unit
"My mother, Virginia Mack, passed away after being a resident at Elizabeth Scott for six-and-a half years. I would like to thank the staff at Elizabeth Scott for all the excellent quality of care that she received during that time. As a physician, I was very impressed with their high level of medical expertise. Over the years, my mother was plagued with
multiple problems, all of which were addressed quickly and with utmost competence. I would also like to express my appreciation for the caring attitude of all of the Elizabeth Scott staff toward my mother. Throughout her stay, she was treated as a family member. The maintenance and housekeeping personnel were always friendly. Before her admission, my mother loved to go to the beauty parlor, and Susanne took over these services. Not only did she do my mother’s hair and nails, she gave her facials and massages. They became good friends and were extremely close. The social services department headed by Colleen was outstanding. Not only were technical issues handled properly, but Colleen always showed a warm interest in the condition of my mother. The nurses and nurses’ aides performed the majority of the daily tasks. They delivered care consistently at a high level, and always with compassion. Stacy and Ryan seemed to form an especially close relationship with my mother. Candace has been a great nursing home administrator. I met with her on numerous occasions. She was always aware of the conditions and problems that faced my mother. She ran a tight ship and made sure that ‘things got done properly.’ Ellen, the speech therapist, diligently worked with my mother. The dieticians and activity directors all were part of the team effort and contributed over the years to the needs and comfort of my mother. I would like to thank all of you for providing such an environment of top-notch medical treatment in a loving home-like atmosphere."
Michael S. Mack, M.D.
“I chose Elizabeth Scott for my mother after asking around and checking them out. They have a very good reputation in the medical community.”
Daniel Olson, M.D., Pulmonary Specialist
"I can attest to the high quality of care they provide to their residents. In addition, they bring a warm, personal approach to the facility every day. Residents are treated as if they are family members."
Jonathan Rohrs, M.D., Geriatric Specialist, Former Elizabeth Scott Medical Director
My mom moved to the Elizabeth Scott Community about two and a half years ago. She was in the assisted living area when she moved in. She was very happy there. It really is a community. There are many activities available
and a very caring staff and the owners are top notch. It really is a family run facility. The whole family works there and the owners know all the residents my name, pretty impressive, and they are regularly on site. Unfortunately my mom was quite ill last fall and had to move into the skilled nursing area of the facility. Her care has been excellent and everyone has been helpful in the transition. It must be a great place to work because the staff is stable with long term employees who are caring and go out of their way to help the residents. I would recommend Elizabeth Scott to anyone. You would be fortunate to have your loved one living at Elizabeth Scott, it will give you peace of mind.
